This month, we are proud to have achieved the Millie’s Mark award for the second consecutive year. This is a significant achievement for the team, and we look forward to receiving our new plaque shortly. It will be displayed at the nursery entrance.
Millie’s Mark is an accreditation that recognises early years settings that exceed the required standards for children’s safety. It confirms that qualified paediatric first aiders are on site at all times, providing reassurance that children are cared for in a safe and secure environment. This award reflects our ongoing commitment to the highest standards of safety and care.
Children’s safety is central to everything we do. In addition to paediatric first aid provision, we follow robust safeguarding procedures to protect every child in our care. All staff are trained in safeguarding and child protection, and we regularly refresh our knowledge to ensure we remain aligned with current guidance.
We complete daily risk assessments across our indoor and outdoor environments to ensure all areas are safe and suitable for play and learning. Staff maintain close supervision at all times, supporting children while encouraging age-appropriate independence within a secure setting.
Health and hygiene remain key priorities. We maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the nursery, promote regular handwashing, and follow clear procedures to minimise the spread of illness.
Achieving and maintaining Millie’s Mark requires ongoing commitment. Our team completes extensive paediatric first aid training, keeps certification up to date, and consistently applies rigorous safety procedures in day-to-day practice. We also review our policies regularly and work collaboratively to ensure we continue to meet these standards.
This achievement reflects the dedication, teamwork, and care our staff demonstrate each day. We are extremely proud of this recognition and of what it represents for our nursery community.
