Ofsted inspection – Wednesday 22nd August 2018.
Banana Moon Caversham were given a full inspection by Ofsted on Wednesday 22nd August. This has resulted in our previous rating of inadequate remaining in place and a number of WRNs (Welfare Requirements Notices) have been issued for the specific areas that need to be further embedded. Further details of the WRNs and reasons for them can be found on the Ofsted website.
The Directors would like to categorically state that we are not only disappointed, but are completely dissatisfied with the outcome of the Ofsted visit, both with the rating given and the resulting WRNs, and with the way that the inspection itself was carried out. We believe we have acted upon and met all of our WRN’s previously set from Ofsted compliance visits – the Ofsted Regulatory Inspector signed these off on 30th July, prior to the August inspection. For these reasons we have submitted a formal complaint to Ofsted to appeal the judgement – we are awaiting their response.
On a positive note, Ofsted praised us on our safeguarding knowledge, our staff and parent feedback, staff interactions with children and providing healthy nutritional meals for our children. We have been working extremely hard to build a strong team at Banana Moon Caversham. We have made significant progress in this area with a number of experienced staff joining our team recently and we are continuing to actively recruit the best people so that we can provide the best possible care for your children.
The entire team at Banana Moon Caversham have been – and will continue to – work tirelessly to ensure we provide the highest possible standards of care in our setting.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank our parents and carers for their continued support.
